David trained and then worked as an illustrator for a number of years. He then trained as an art teacher before being ordained as a Priest in the Church of England. He now combines working part time as a school Chaplain with painting. His preferred medium is acrylic, and his subject matter involves finding the shapes, patterns, colours and designs in landscapes and natural forms.

He has exhibited in Sussex, Cambridge, the 2023 Chaiya Art Awards winners exhibition and in the 2025 RSBA exhibition in the Mall Galleries. In 2026 he also appeared in the Derwent Water heat of Landscape artist of the year.
